GWINNETT ENVIRONMENTAL AND HERITAGE CENTER

With a park area of 233 acres, the Heritage Center boasts a 66,000 SF+, LEED-certified Gold museum and education center with 1-acre green roof, interactive hands-on science exhibits, Cultural and natural history exhibits, 3 classrooms, a full teaching laboratory, administrative offices, gift shop, work shop, changing exhibits area, passenger elevator, freight elevator, large meeting room/lecture hall, and dining area. The grounds surrounding the center include nature trails, trail head with paved connection to Ivy Creek Greenway, 3 large pavilions, 2 outdoor classrooms, pervious pavement (asphalt and concrete) in parking lot, bioretention swales to enhance storm water quality and reduce runoff, water feature that utilizes reuse water from the nearby F. Wayne Hill Water Treatment Facility.
